The Venango County Chamber is hosting a 9-month leadership class, Leadership Venango, involving participants from all over the county in a variety of businesses. Participants are at many different stages of leadership. The Chamber held a two-day retreat last month at Whitehall Camp and Conference Center in Emlenton. The retreat marked the beginning of the 2023/24 Leadership Venango program with classes running one day per month from October through May. Sessions include speakers and activities focused on leadership skills including topics like conflict management, effective communication, generational differences, and board management.
This past Thursday, Oct. 12th was the first of their monthly sessions for the class. They visited Hickman Lumber Sawmill in the morning and Dixie Gordon, of Amazing Stitches, gave the group an excellent tour of the downtown area. At noon they enjoyed lunch a Little It Deli, see photo above, where they covered some of the leadership programming while at the restaurant. The group then spent the early afternoon at the Crawford Center where they had a leadership speaker. They ended their day with a tour of the Baytree Farm on Rockland Nickleville Road, Emlenton.
