Vickie L. Pentz, 68, of Emlenton, passed away peacefully at home Friday evening June 6, 2025, while surrounded by her loving family.
Vickie was born in Butler on May 30, 1957. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Zelma Barger King.
She was a 1976 graduate of Union High School and worked as a teacher’s aide having a passion for helping students with special needs. She received "Volunteer of the Year" in Whitehaven, Pa. for her selfless dedication. She operated her own, care basket ministry, enjoyed singing in church, and had previously recorded her own album. Vickie was very proud of her Cherokee Native American heritage.
Vickie’s true passion was being an intercessory prayer warrior. No request for prayer was ever refused or looked down upon. In 2019, she was ordained as a Universal Life Church Minister, and often referred to herself as a “minister of broken hearts.”
Vickie was married at the Dutch Hill Church of God on February 24, 1978, to Kippard I. Pentz. Mr. Pentz preceded her in death on September 10, 2018.
She is survived by her children, Kipprie L. Poellnitz and her husband, Robert, of Titusville, and Koah I. Pentz and his wife, Amy, of Emlenton; eight grandchildren, Daniel, Victoria, Vanessa, Devon, Deja, Emary, Luke and Kaitlyn; two great-grandchildren, Exavier and Meadow; one brother, four sisters, as well as several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Violet Lynn, and two grandchildren, Jonah Vanek and Dylan Rae.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at AseraCare Hospice for their excellent care and kindness to Vickie.
A memorial service to celebrate Vickie’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, at the Park Hill First Church of God, 3314 Lime Plant Rd., Parker, with the Rev. Amy Callander, senior church pastor, officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hile Funeral Home, Inc. in Emlenton.
