William E. "Bill" Garis


William E. “Bill” “Two Dog” Garis Jr., 76, of Emlenton passed away peacefully in the company of his family, Saturday morning, July 13, 2024, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.

William was born in Oil City, on July 23, 1947. He was the son of the late William E. Sr. and Mildred Henderson Garis.

Bill was a 1965 graduate of Keystone High School in Knox and had been employed by Quaker State Refining Corporation and Petrowax. He was later employed by Fuchs Lubricants, and Sam Orton Construction, all in Emlenton

Bill was a Mason for over 52 years and was a member of the Parker-Allegheny Canby Lodge # 521 F&AM. Bill had joined the former Canby Lodge # 520 in St. Petersburg in 1971 and was the Worshipful Master there in 1978.

Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching NASCAR and was an avid Dale Earnhardt Sr. fan.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Bess Garis, whom he married in Wellsville, Ohio on July 15, 1983; two sons, Wally Page and his wife, Kimberly and William E. “Bill” Garis III and his wife, Terrin; his daughter, Fallon Garis, all of Emlenton; five grandchildren, Kyle Page and his wife, Rosa; Trevor Page, William E. Garis IV; Kallie Garis and Riley Garis, all of Emlenton; two great-grandchildren, Aleix and Sergi Page; his sister, Yvonne Murray of Emlenton, as well as a several nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Steven Garis and Timothy Garis, and a brother, Scott Garis.

Friends will be received at Hile Funeral Home Inc., 802 Grove Street, Saint Petersburg, from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2024. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 18, 2024, from the funeral home with the Rev. Dan Myers, a retired United Methodist pastor, officiating. The interment will be in the St. Petersburg Cemetery.

Members of the Parker Allegheny Canby Lodge # 521 F&AM will conduct a memorial service for their departed brother at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
