Our educational program will include three topics to focus on ways to improve your understanding of plants, develop new growing practices for the summer, and explore new options to improve your garden spaces for the future.

Event speakers include:

Paul Zammit, a graduate of the University of Guelph and is a professor of Horticulture at Niagara College. Prior to joining the faculty, Paul held the position of the Director of Horticulture at the Toronto Botanical Garden for 10 years.

Joseph Tychonievich gardens in his yard, his friend's yard, and in his basement. He is the author of several books including The Comic Book Guide to Growing Food: Step-by-Step Vegetable Gardening for Everyone and Rock Gardening: Reimagining a Classic Style. He is the editor of the North American Rock Garden Society quarterly journal.

Janet Macunovich is a professional gardener, designer, author, and educator. She began designing for others in 1980, teaching a college garden design course in 1987 and published her first book in 1990. In 1985 she established Perennial Favorites, a garden and landscape design firm. Janet's formal education in gardening and design includes hundreds of hours of seminars and workshops at botanical gardens & educational institutions.
