Cochran Seeks 4th Term as Knox Tax Collector

Residents of Knox, I, Timmy Cochran, am announcing my desire to run for re-election as tax collector for a fourth term.   Knox is my hometown, and I appreciate the opportunity to continue the tradition set forth by my family in serving this community.

I am a US Army Veteran and a graduate of Clarion University with a Degree in Accounting. I have over 30 years of accounting and customer service experience that has given me the background to serve as your elected tax collector.

My service to Knox continues as a Honorary member with 38 years of service with the Knox Volunteer Fire Company. I currently serve as Treasurer with over 25 years in this position, as well as formerly serving as a line officer starting as a Lieutenant and advancing to the position of Assistant Chief.

When I was appointed as tax collector in 2013, just a few of the County tax collectors were using tax collection software.  I coordinated with the Clarion County Tax Collector Association and partnered with RAK Computer to offer tax collection software to the County Tax Collectors. This process in turn offered more uniform and accurate records for not only the municipalities but for the local attorneys and escrow companies. I have also been the appointed tax collector in Shippenville Borough since 2017 and am proud to serve the taxpayers of the municipality.

My twelve years as Knox Borough tax collector has given me the experience and relationships that will be needed to move forward with the ongoing Reassessment project.  I am also optimistic that moving forward, the new county assessment software will allow tax collectors to serve our taxpayers more accurately and efficiently.

My experience as tax collector and commitment to service will provide the expertise and dedication needed as the community moves forward, and I ask for your vote for Knox Borough Tax Collector.
