Fundraising Efforts Now Underway
Now in its 16th year, the Forsythe Snowball Kickball fundraiser is in a category of its own. The fundraiser is a testament of building community relationships and helping those at a time of need. The event has snowballed its way from inception sixteen years ago.
The hosts, Vince and Carrie Forsythe of St. Petersburg have been paying it forward, having experienced their own setbacks with their kids at an early age. Wanting to make a difference, the Forsythe’s put together and event what today can only be described as remarkable. Over the last 16 years and primarily over the last seven, the event has raised over $275,000 with money going to those that need it most. Not a bad feat considering it is out of their garage and held at their home.
This year the Snowball Kickball Fundraiser will be held on February 14, 2026 and will help three young kids, with a portion also going to Clarion County Shriners and the Boys and Girls Club Along The Allegheny located in Emlenton. The event features many ways to contribute with shirts sponsors, raffle tickets ( ½ Pig, $1,000 Cash Raffle, Henry Golden Boy 22LR Raffle, 4 Gun Raffle, a YETI Cooler of Booze – valued at $750) and a one of a kind Chinese and live auction.
This year the fundraiser will go towards helping Kohen Dunmire of Franklin, Lucas Henry of Chicora, and Annabella Cornelius, a 9th grader at Moniteau High School.

Kohen Dunmire of Franklin, a 1 year old, was diagnosed at the beginning of December with metastatic neuroblastoma at just 11 months old. So far, doctors know that he has a tumor on his adrenal gland, his liver, and in his bone marrow. The family is currently waiting the results of his MIBG scan to see if there is disease anywhere else in his little body. The current plan is for 8 cycles of chemo with another MIBG scan after cycle 4 to see how his body is responding to treatment. At a minimum the family travels back and forth to Pittsburgh once a week, but certain cycles of chemotherapy, could be 3-4 days a week.

Lucas Henry of Chicora is a 7 month old who has recently received a bone marrow transplant. At just 2 months old Lucas began to experience fevers, irregular breathing and was not acting like himself. Lucas was flown to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh where he was diagnosed with a rare/life threatening auto immune disorder called Hemophagocytic Lymphhistiocytosis (HLH). Lucas had under went extensive chemotherapy and a tracheostomy. He then had a successful bone marrow transplant at 6 months old. Lucas has been a patient at Children’s Hospital since July of 2025. Despite his challenges, he remains happy and always full of smiles.

Annabella Cornelius age 14 and a freshman at Moniteau High School was diagnosed with a cancerous non-operable brain tumor in August of 2025. She completed 6 weeks of radiation in October at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
Annabella is currently taking a new FDA approved medication for her type of tumor. Annabella will have a checkup with her Oncologist every month and will have an MRI every two months with the next one being in February.
We are thankful for our Pediatrician doctor, staff at Children’s Hospital and especially the community for all the love and support.
