James C. Bollinger

James C. Bollinger “Jethro”, 74, of Clintonville passed away at his home, October 25, 2026.
Jim was born July 3, 1952, in Duquesne, he was the son of the late Charles and Amelia Gigliotti Bollinger.
Jim received his education from the school of hard knocks. Jim had to quit high school to take care of his mother and he started driving truck at the local steel mills at age 15 because the mills did not require a driver’s license to help support his family.
He was married to Catherine “Cassy” Torsney on September 25, 1976, she survives.
Jim drove truck his whole life, starting in the Steel Mills to most recently driving for McClymonds Trucking. He drove bus for the Grove City School District as well. After retiring from trucking he was a parts driver for Hovis Auto Supply.
Jim was a character to say the least! He always had a joke to share that always made you laugh! He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Fan; he loved to throw everyone out of the house except Cass to watch the games so he could yell at the tv in peace! He was blessed with his tight group of buddies he acquired after years of driving truck and looked forward to seeing them. Jim’s true loves where those grandkids and great grandbabies! He was no stranger for donating countless hours to the Clintonville community. He served on counsel and the water authority for many years as well as the Clintonville Memorial Committee, getting a new flag pole and flag placed in town. Jim’s proudest moment while serving the community was when he was appointed Mayor!
Loved ones to cherish Jim’s memory; his wife Cassy Bollinger, son Anthony L. Tollari, grandchildren Kaylee, Casey, Anthony, Jordan and Shelly, great grandchildren Aubery, Declan, Irelynn, Riley, Ellie, Avery, Aiden and Addison. His sister in laws Mary Jo Katavich and her husband Tom and Pat Hoffman and husband Dave.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Jamie Boyer and sister and brother-in-law Rose and Bert Hutsenpiller.
