Janet M. Fair, 85, of Perry Twp., Parker, passed away at Butler Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.

Born in Huey on May 5, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Clinton, “Mose” and Floda Mae “Curly” (Bobbert) Bowser.

She was a 1958 graduate of Union High School.

More than anything Janet loved her family. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were her whole world. She took great pride in her home and loved decorating for holidays, especially Halloween. She loved creating “The Haunted House” and handing out treats to both young and young at heart.  Janet enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and cleaning house. She was the owner of “My Fair Ladies Cakes and Catering”, which provided custom cakes and confections for over forty years to thousands of customers who always wanted a “Janet Fair Cake”. Some traveling as far as New York City, Texas, and South Carolina, just for one of her cakes. She also owned a bus in the A-C Valley school district for many years. She loved having parties and giving gifts everyone. Some of her favorite summer activities were going to yard and garage sales, planting flowers, her Fourth of July Reunions, craft shows, and chainsaw carving events. Janet was known for her kind giving spirit and always being there for anyone in need.

On May 1, 1980, she married James H. Fair and he survives. 

Also surviving are her daughters Jamie Karnes, Jody Rabenau, and Justi Conner-Fair. Three grandchildren Jeb Karnes (Tonya), Quinn Rabenau-Mcdonnell (Kyle), and Teri Karnes (Chris). Seven great grandchildren Audrianna Jack, Gabriel Jack, and Olive McDonnel, Miranda Best, Mekah Gorsuch, Brad Fauzey, and R.J. Custer. Four great-great-grandchildren Addi Fauzey, Liam Gorsuch, Iris Vickers, Layne Best. She is also survived by her sister Garnet VanDyke who is 100 years young. A sister-in-law Kate Bowser and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter Terri Mae Conner; four sisters, Geraldine George, Leona Bowser, Violet Bowser, and Jeannie Bowser; six brothers, Junior Bowser, Foster Bowser, Henry Bowser, Ernist Bowser, Dewey Bowser, and Norman Bowser; a nephew Henry “Tex” Bowers, two Nieces Tracy Bowser and Karen Bowser.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Buzard Funeral Home Inc. Parker where family will have a private viewing.

Interment will follow at Rimersburg Cemetery.
