Joyce H. Viertel, 82, of Cherry Valley, went to live with her heavenly father on January 31, 2026.
Joyce was born, January 5, 1944. She was the daughter of the late Raymond G. Tinker and May Ellen Virginia Rector Tinker.
Joyce graduated from Moniteau High School in 1961. Joyce married Erich (Rick) W. Viertel on October 20, 1961, who survives.
Joyce was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church and was a very active member. She assumed multiple roles and dedicated much time to the children’s ministries.
In addition to her husband, Joyce is survived by a son, Mark Viertel, and his wife, Angela of Parker, PA; a daughter, Renee Goodman, and her husband, Brad of Harmony; her grandchildren, Kelsey Wilson and her husband Josh of Rock Grove; Racheal Best and her husband Evan of Parker; Annie Viertel of Grove City,
Madison Goodman of Oakley, Utah, Maggie Goodman, and her husband Collin Binko of Victor, Idaho. Joyce's great-grandchildren, Kathleen and Ellowyn Wilson of Rocky Grove, Easton Best of Parker, Stella and Sarah Goodman of Oakley, Utah. Joyce is also survived by her two brothers, Russell Tinker and his wife Pamela of Lancaster, PA, and David Tinker and his wife Kathy of Emlenton, PA. Joyce’s brother-in-law, John Mucio of Oil City, also survives.
Joyce was welcomed into heaven by her parents and her sister Mary Ellen Tinker Mucio, and her brother, Mark.
Family will welcome friends at the Fellowship Baptist Church, on Tuesday evening, February 3, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place at the Fellowship Baptist Church, 3727 Oneida Valley Road, Emlenton, on February 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with an hour of visitation before the funeral service. Pastor Jacob Langdon, pastor from the church, will be officiating the funeral service. Burial will take place at the East Unity Cemetery.
