Judith “Judie” Ann Hickman Villasenor

January 29, 2026 — Arlington, Virginia

Our beloved mother, grammy, sister, aunt, and friend, Judith Ann Hickman Villasenor, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at home in Arlington, Virginia after a brief but valiant struggle with bladder cancer. She was 86 years old.

Judie leaves behind her cherished children, Heather Yvonne Villasenor Bryant (Michael) of Arlington, Virginia, and David Eric Villasenor of Driftwood, Texas. She was a proud grandmother to Summer Rae Bryant (17) and Autumn Dae Bryant (15), both of Arlington, Virginia, and Luke David Villasenor (14) of Driftwood, Texas, who were the light of her life.

She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Lou Hickman Lentz (Ned) of Toledo, Oregon, Betty Jean Hickman O’Flinn Corsaro (Paul) of Carson City, Nevada, and Josephine Ellen Hickman Hovis (Robert) of Harrisville, Pennsylvania, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

Judie was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur Charles Hickman and Betty Geraldine Eakin Hickman Seabrook, her beloved siblings, Faye Hickman Martin, Carolyn Hickman, Andrew Charles Hickman, and Wilbur John Hickman, and her nephew Spencer John Hickman.

A devoted military wife for many years, Judie was equally dedicated to her family. She gave selflessly to her children, ensuring they always had what they needed, and she embraced the role of “bonus mom” to many of her children’s friends, offering a listening ear and sage advice. Her kindness and wisdom left an indelible mark on everyone she met.

Judie’s love for travel took her across the United States with her family in her earlier years, and later, she had the opportunity to explore the world. In 2001, she returned to her roots in Emlenton, Pennsylvania, where she worked as a Tax Collector, becoming an active member of the Scrubgrass Grange and Rankin Chapel.

Though she always held a deep love for her western Pennsylvania origins, nothing brought her greater joy than the time she spent with her grandchildren. In 2012, Judie made the move to Arlington, Virginia, to be with her daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Michael, and to help raise her granddaughters, Summer and Autumn. She was their constant source of love, wisdom, and warmth.

Judie’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. She will be laid to rest in East Unity Cemetery, Cherry Valley, Pennsylvania, in the early spring, with details to follow.
