Kendrick Kinney Participates in PA State Scholastic Chess Tournament

March 7 & 8th the PA State Scholastic Chess tournament was held in Harrisburg PA. Kendrick Kinney took second place in the “Under 1100” rated chess - Chesstournament. This two-day event featured three matches on Saturday March 7th, and two on March 8th. On Saturday, Kinney had two draws and one win; on Sunday he had one loss and one win, totaling 3 pts. overall. There were 39 players in Kendrick’s class from all over the state of Pennsylvania, which included players from Ohio, New York, New Jersey, and Virginia. Overall there were 8 class ratings competing with around 500 players over the course of two days.
The tournament was held by the Pennsylvania State Chess Federation, and was a sanctioned United States Chess Federation event, which requires membership to compete. Since participating in this event, Kinney will be rated within the top 650 players in the state.
