Kindergarten Eye Screening Held

Getting ready for Kindergarten—The Rimersburg Lions Club performed its annual Sligo Kindergarten Eye Screening this past week during Kindergarten Registration Days at the Sligo Elementary School for incoming kindergarten students for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. 

This marks the 25th year the community service organization has performed the free service which checks for 5 different eye disorders. Parents are notified of the results of the screening as well as the school nurse. Pictured here during the screening are: (L-R) Charlie Earley who is about to be screened; Kayson Kriebel who just finished his screening, Rimersburg Lion Greg Mortimer who coordinated the project, and Rimersburg Lion Sydney Varner Hiles along with her two daughters, Cecelia and Clea, who all assisted with the screening process.
