Updated: Jul 23, 2022

Ryan F. Waltman, 40, of Butler, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 21, 2022.

Ryan was born in Butler on April 12, 1982, to Frank and Beverly Parker Waltman of Chicora.

Ryan was a 2000 graduate of Karns City Area High School where he enjoyed playing football. Ryan attended Slippery Rock University and earned a B.S. in Art. Ryan worked alongside his father in the long-time family business, Waltman Furniture Co. in Chicora and Kittanning. In his free time, he took SCUBA lessons and was an avid member of the Three Rivers Marine Club. Ryan was passionate about fish...many, many fish, his mustache, and his banjo. Ryan was very musically talented and loved to play a tune on his banjo for anyone who would listen. Ryan was also an amazing artist, as a child he enjoyed creating elaborate characters through drawing. As he got older, his artistic skills expanded into pottery and painting.

Ryan is survived by the love of his life, Tabitha “Tabbi” Artman Waltman, whom he married in Butler on October 5, 2012. Together they had two beautiful children, Franklin, 5, and Eloise, 3. Ryan loved his children fiercely and was an amazing father. He enjoyed swimming with them and taking them on adventures.

Ryan’s family will remember his exuberant personality that could entrance an entire room, his wicked smarts that allowed him to ace a test without studying, and his ability to have fun in any situation. He was loved by so many and had the ability to make friends in any situation. His personality was contagious.

In addition to his wife, parents, and children, Ryan is survived by his sisters, Erin Kelmereit and her husband, Larry, of Moon Twp., and Kristin Arora and her husband, Rajat, of Hartsdale, NY; two nieces, Evie and Kaia; a nephew, Kayden, as well as a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and friends.

Ryan was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert “Bob” and Virginia “Ginia” Parker, and his paternal grandparents, Vern and Evelyn Waltman.

Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora. The Rev. Joseph Boomhower, pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chicora will officiate a private funeral service. Interment will be in Hemphill Cemetery, Chicora.
