The Boys & Girls Club Along The Allegheny enjoyed a busy December.
The club kicked off the holidays season in November with a paint class. The kids created their own turkey painting.
In December the kids decorated the Christmas tree at the club. Thanks to Brooke and EJ for taking the time to make it look so nice.
The kids are currently holding a Christmas Clay Sculpturing contest at Foxburg Pizza. The kids created Christmas themed sculptures for the public to vote on. Stop down and vote your favorite. Cost is $1.00 per vote with all the proceeds helping a family over the holidays. You can cast your vote until December 29th.
Back at the club the kids held their own Gingerbread decorating contest. The kids were asked to work in groups of two to work on team building skills. The vote for this contest was held on our Facebook page with the most votes (36) going to Merci Slater and Matalyn Bobbert. Each will get a $25.00 gift card. Honorable mention went to Kallie Garis.
On December 18th the club traveled to Bruin Lanes in Bruin for their annual Christmas party. The kids enjoyed bowling, some fantastic pizza and a Chinese auction with various prizes.
Friday, December 19th the club was closed but we enjoyed passing out groceries and holiday goodies to families in the local area.
The club ended its December run with a Breakfast with Santa at the Plaza Restaurant on Saturday, December 20th.
A special thanks to Carol Burns and staff for having this event for us. We had a good crowd and some very enthusiastic children. Kids were able to create Rudolph pancakes and color and write out their list to Santa. Each kid had the opportunity to sit on Santa’s lap and go over their list with Santa.
