William E. “Ed” Heeter, Jr., 78, of Heeter Rd., Emlenton, Richland Twp., Clarion Co., passed away while in the company of his loving wife at Clarview Nursing Home on Thursday, June 15, 2022.
William was born in Butler on January 11, 1945. He was the son of the late William E. Sr. and Olive Jane Pollum Heeter.
He was a 1962 graduate of Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School and was of the Methodist faith.
Mr. Heeter had been employed all of his working life in mining and heavy equipment operations, and had worked for several mining companies. He retired in 2010 from Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. Ed was a well-known family farmer and sportsmen. He enjoyed big game hunting, gun collecting, farming, and most especially being “Grandpap”.
He is survived by his wife, Susanne J. Bump Heeter, whom he married at the West Freedom Methodist Church on October 4, 1963. Also surviving are three sons, John E. Heeter of Emlenton, David W. Heeter of Leeper, and William W. “Bill” Heeter and his wife, Carolyn, of Sinking Spring; three grandchildren, Jenessa Marie Seigworth and her husband, Tim, Wyatt David Heeter and Lily Jane Heeter; two great grandchildren, Adele Seigworth and Watson Seigworth, as well as a number of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Frank Bump and a niece, Lori Bleihl.
The family would like to thank the staff at Clarview Nursing Home for their kindness and excellent care.
A private funeral service officiated by the Rev. Ronald Hunsberger, a Methodist pastor, will be held at the Hile Funeral Home Inc. in St. Petersburg.
